INTRODUCTION TO THE
NOTICE BOARD ARCHIVES
The origins of the North Wales Coast Railway website are blurred by
the
mists of time, but it certainly dates back to the heyday of the Class
37-hauled services in late 1995 or early 1996. The Notice Board page
has always been part of the site, but in the early days the updates
were always made on the same page, on the basis that the Notice Board's
contents would be reflected in changes to the main pages. The only
surviving example is from October 1996, which exists today because it
was saves under the wrong file name. (View

The first news pictures were taken with a Casio QV-10 digital camera in
1996, and in 1998, when more storage space became available, we decided
that the contributions and stories being received were too valuable to
be discarded, and the archive began, although the only way to access it
was by working back or by using a rather basic search screen. In 2006,
to celebrate our tenth birthday, we have moved all the available
pictures and pages to one server, and created this sub-site to enable
readers to browse the archive, which we think forms a unique record of
railway events in North Wales.
The index pages for each year will be progressively enhanced, whenever
time permits to include a summary of the contents of each page, and the
browse index will be updated (approximately) monthly.
Thanks as ever to the many people who have contributed over the years,
and to all the railway staff of the North Wales lines, and our very
special thanks to Peter Everett whose excellent programming
work allowed the index pages to include the headings of the articles -
