Sunday 3 April - Picture report extra

Here's a further selection of pictures from Sunday 3 April when
Arriva Trains Wales faced up to a lack of drivers by hiring in trains
from private suppliers. We've arranged them below in order of
locomotive number for a change.

This never actually worked a passenger train: having worked empty stock
to Bangor the day before, it returned on the back the empty
coaches on the morning of Sunday 3 April. This is Bangor - picture by Rowan
Crawshaw.

Virgin Trains

Virgin provided a pair of Class 221s on their Holyhead service: here's
the pair at Llandudno Junction. Moments before the platform was
swarming with passengers who had been told to join the first 5 coaches
as the last 5 were full.It was a few minutes late because they held it
at Holyhead to meet the Boat. (Peter Roberts)

And finally ...

On the same day, 67 004 was pictured at Chester by Dave
Bramley on a Northern Belle charter.
